A naming ceremony is a meaningful experience for everyone concerned. It offers the opportunity to celebrate and welcome a new child into the world and into the family. Quite frequently this ceremony is celebrated on the child's first birthday, or infact any age. Family relationships are deepened and parents become more fully aware of their responsibilities. God Parents, or Mentors, and Grandparents can be officially recognised and the role of family and friends can be honoured.
