Civil Unions

Civil Unions become legal in New Zealand in 2005. They are available to same-sex couples or by couples of different sexes in New Zealand, provided they meet certain criteria, similar to those required for a marriage. I am a registered Civil Union celebrant, and am therefore able to solemnise all such unions.
A Civil union ceremony may be less formal and less traditional than a marriage ceremony. Naturally this will depend on your personalities and values - you may want an intimate, informal ceremony with a few close friends or you may want a larger, more formal ceremony. The ceremony may be conducted at any time, on any day of the week.
