About Marilyn
A little about me!
After a fifteen year period from 1990 to 2005, working in the Banking Industry, it became time to establish my Celebrant Business in a full time capacity. My first wedding ceremony took place at Tirau in the year 2001. This was the beginning of a new and wonderful career change. Over the years I have been asked to officiate at wedding ceremonies as far afield as Napier, Taupo, Rotorua, Tauranga, Waiuku, Auckland, Coromandel and the Greater Waikato.
As I became busier with weddings, I was then approached in 2004 to perform a funeral service. Although a little reluctant to do so initially, that first service touched me in a way that no words can describe. I learned that to perform a funeral service is an enormous privilege and an extemely rewarding experience. The funeral services are generally in the Waikato area, performed in Chapels, Churches or a special place appropriate for the family.
Performing over 50 wedding ceremonies (including civil unions), 90 or more funeral services in a year, naming ceremonies and renewal of vows, I am very grateful to have found such a wonderful fulfilling career.

What is a Civil Marriage / Civil Union Celebrant?
Appointed by the Department of Internal Affairs, marriage celebrants and civil union celebrants may conduct weddings anywhere in New Zealand. The celebrants go through a strict selection process and meet certain criteria before they are appointed.
What can you expect on your wedding day?
Your celebrant should be able to help you relax on the day, and act as a Master of Ceremonies for your service. Marriage celebrants are attracted to the work because they enjoy the important and honoured role they play on your special day; they will be focused on you having the wonderful experience that you desire.
